America's Ugliest Homes May be a Good Investment

Looking for a home to buy as a fixer-upper investment? You may want to scan the real estate market for the most hideous-looking home.

HomeVestors conducts an annual "Ugliest House" contest. The results were recently posted on CNN.com. The 2010 winner was a grungy little place in Springfield, MO. The home was actually sold -- no doubt to a real handy repairman.

According to CNN.com, "There can be a lot to love about a homely house -- particularly the steep, steep discounts. Few home seekers want to put time, money and effort into fixer-uppers, so these homes must be offered very cheap."

For the record, it took seven dumpsters to get rid of the junk from the winning house in Springfield.
